Here's a scan of the bands latest demo 96.
The band was formed in March of 1993 with Bryan Essing on drums, Chris
D'Alessandro on guitars, Rob yadimarco on vocals and Dave Urban on Bass.
This is still the original lineup, with the exception of Pete Heslin who
was a 2nd guitarist. The history behind the band name is very intersting.
A Faction is a group within a larger group, which is at odds with that larger
group. In this case that larger group is mainstream society. A "Zero" is
something of no value, the lowest factor, nothing. In this case the "Zero"
refers to the status assigned people like the members of Faction Zero. The
elite of the larger society look at people like "us" as zeros. Our concerns
and needs are not addressed, because the elite feels that we are powerless.
In thier social equation, we are all factored in as Zeros. So we are a Faction
of Zeros: Faction Zero. A group of powerless people, banded together to make
our voices heard.
Faction Zero has also been featured on many comps including: The Amywhere
for Gas Money comp. The BFD records comp. The Kill the Rock Star NJ comp,
the Gogmagod records comp, etc... They have a 7" on Division records with
4 songs from the Demo 95. They have a live tape from WYNU's crucial chaos
and now have their first full length Cd out on IJT records. It is titled
"Liberation" and has 17 songs of NJHC.
When asked about their sound: Classic NJHC sound. Hardcore, but with a
good dose of metal influence, with interesting tempo changes, and songs which
highlight a large range of influences. Of course, most of our HC influences
have come from he NYC scene, so we have incorporated a lot of that style
into our sound as well.
The demo at top features 6 songs (plus an intro). The recording is top of
the line and the sound is amazing. The songs include:

The band is also going to be on a new IJT release which is expected out this
summer. They also have another live recording of them from WNYU radio station
as well as a shirt. This demo is 4 buck, the live recording is 3 bucks and
the shirt is 10 bucks.

DEPRESSION, THE CHAIN, MIGUIDED, THE TIES OF INTEGRITY, WHEN THINGS SLOW
