E Toen Concrete - 2nd Coming CDReview added Aug 2k - Second Coming. I cant think of a better title for this CD because it truly is like the 2nd coming of GOD. In all my years of music I have never heard anything that spoke to me more than this release from E Town Concrete. There's no question that E Town isnt the typical "hardcore" band. And many will argue that they are metal. I dont give a fuck what anyone says, THIS IS HARDCORE in the purest form of new school style. There is NO old school influence here. I've been listening to this CD every single day since its release and I am still impressed by it's power. Vocals are angry, strong, and perfect for the feeling the band is trying to express. Music is unique and original with obvious old school metal influence. The few solos in the album only touch the surface of the bands musical ability. Overall I have to say that this is the greatest band I have ever heard in my life. That's not to say that other bands arent as talented, but E Town has everything I personally enjoy about a band. Lyrics are well written, well sung, and speak of trying times in life. Music is heavy and packed with tons of dance beats and hate-chords. E Town's strength comes from the bands ability to express themselves musically. This ability is rare, and is often the cause for failure in most bands. My personal favorite song (which I cant say was an easy choice) was Fathers Marathon. If you're into the heavier style of hardcore, you cant go wrong with E Town. If you're content with the life you have, and things are perfect, I highly recommend you DONT buy this CD. I hope this band survives the climb to the top and await the day that everyone is on their nuts and claims they were always fans of the band.  I cant say enough good things about this CD. You can buy this CD direct from TRIPLE CROWN RECORDS who I applaud for sponsoring the website for several months in 2000.

E TOWN CONCRETE: From the inner city streets of Elizabeth, NJ, emerges E-Town Concrete, a truly powerful five piece sculpted by their urban environment. The band was formed in the summer of 1995 as a side project of a garage band in which Anthony and Ken played guitar and Ted was on bass. For E-Town, Ken’s role remained the same, while Anthony and Ted applied their talents to other areas. Now, Anthony was experimenting with vocals, and Ted found himself comfortably behind the drums. David, a childhood friend of the trio, was recruited to play guitar. Two bassists later, Eric joined the band to solidify the lineup. E-Town Concrete was now complete.

E-Town’s music flows naturally creating a unique blend of emotion, Hip-Hop and HardCore, that is refreshingly authentic. E-Town Concrete wears its heart on its sleeve for the world to see, lending an instant credibility to their music. Dealing with many of life’s harsh realities. Anthony’s eye opening lyrics conjure up powerful images that refuse to go away. This is not your run of the mill rock/rap hybrid by any means. All aspects of their music are done “right”, and their versatility is apparent. E-Town’s Hip-Hop interludes come-off so well that they demand respect by even the most dedicated rap purists, while still churning out the types of riffs that can make any dance floor erupt into frenzy. E-Town has truly bridged the gap. They have been accepted by fans of all genres in every music community, and continue to win people over everywhere.

In just three short years, E-Town Concrete has built an impressive following worldwide, and it hasn’t been easy. Hard work, talent, and sacrifice are the key ingredients to their success. E-Town’s popularity has skyrocketed because of heavy airplay from radio stations across the United States. College Music Journal charted E-Town in the top five loud rock adds the week of April 6, 1998. They have also charted on commercial frequencies such as 92.3 K-Rock in New York City (the home of Howard Stern), Energy FM 90.0 in Erie Pennsylvania, as well as Seton Hall University’s WSOU, the titans of college radio. E-Town Concrete has also landed themselves some impressive write-ups and reviews in reputable music publications such as Juice (FEB/MAR ‘98), In Effect (Winter ’98), and Strength (JUN/JUL ’98) to name a few. 1998 is the dawn of a reign and E-Town Concrete will continue to overcome all obstacles on their way to the top. E-Town is bringing originality and passion back into music like no other. As they continue to climb the ladder of success, let it be known, E-Town Concrete can not and will not be denied.

The band will be had a 7" from Finland in July 99...With 2 new songs not on the CD and 1 unreleased track (a remake of the song E-Town Concrete off the Red Demo) They will were also involved in a re-mix version of FURY OF V's "WANT IT ALL" song.
