DIRGE - "Hazing Rituals" Canada - This 17 song CD borders on the detah metal/speed metal/hardcore edge but it's clear that there are lots of Hardcore influences in the band. A simple example of influence is one of the band members wearing a CRO MAGS hat inside the CD. The music itself is pretty quick, with lots of double bass drums and quick quitarring. Vocal style is a mix of Sepultura and Merauder with deep, hatefull lyrics. There's alot of really deep, evil, hardcore dance beats in each song as well as the quicker metal type riffs. Over all, I did like the band alot and do feel that it fits into the Hardcore category. However, this band is not for the weak. If you're not into bands that are driven by hatred and emotion, this band isn't for you.
